Program: President Dick had asked a couple of us to talk about a lesson or something special that happened to them over their lifetime.
Ken Moulton told a story of when he was in High School going to a Vermont basketball camp. The coach he got wasn't a college coach but a high school coach from Lexington Ma. He was short, fat and didn1t fit Ken's image of a quality coach. But, after 3 days Ken said he would go through walls for this coach.
He had something special about him that inspired everyone around him. Ken played for 2 summers for him and loved every minute of it. The coach was Rollie Massimino, who later coached Villanova to the 1985 NCAA National Championship. Be careful about judging people too early.
Brad Abel talked about his family and relationships. They are to Bradthe most important things in his life. His mother was a very caringperson and always ther to help others. His father was an acholic butwas ther for him when he needed him. They both supported him indifferent ways. Brad liked the book "The Second Mountain". Brad feelsvery Blessed to has a wonderful wife and 3 special children.
Carol Niegisch talked about being born in Maryland and moving to Wyoming when she was young. She always likes hiking and being out in nature. She has only 12 mountains to go to finish her 48 four thousand footers in New Hampshire. Carol told a story of hiking in the Grand Tetons and coming upon a bear cub in the brush but not knowing the mother grizzly was a few feet from her. Carol later came to N.H. with Bob to practice medicine and now enjoys hiking locally and out west.
President Dick closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
