Total of 38 Announcements: - Bryant Stevener announced the ribbon cutting for the Wildcat Habitat at BMS directly after the morning meeting.
- Gale Kenison announced that there was an auction next Saturday – October 20th. We still have a few raffle tickets to sell, and the setup crew will be hard at work Friday night and Saturday morning.
- Sandy Eldredge spoke about the food necessities for the auction. We are in need of more salads. Please see/email Sandy for suggestions if you are able to assist.
- Bryant Stevener announced that some members of the club will be meeting at John Lyford’s house on Saturday 10/13 @ 9:00am to help clear items in the barn.

- Chris Parkinson for his annual “Yankees lost in post season” buck. Chris enticed Red Sox fans to pay up as well, and so….
- Mike Griffin added a congratulatory dollar in support of the recent win by the Red Sox, meaning they now go on to the AL championship round.
- Dean Cascadden was happy for the BHS Men’s golf team. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for the championship match, meaning that the regular season record dictates champion. Go Bow!
- Steve DeStefano recently visited Orlando’s Universal Studios with his family and grandson. They rode the popular “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” ride and were impressed
- Mike Fortier celebrated his recent anniversary by taking a trip to NH’s Mount Washington Hotel. While there they rode the Cog railway to the top of Mt Washington (something Mike had never done) as well as brave the zip lines
- Bill McGonagle commented on the “Scarecrows of Bow” throughout town and brought to light the possible gender bias happening with those at the Rotary Park location. This bulletin editor went to ask the scarecrows if they had any comment. They just stared into space. Hmmmmm…
Raffle Winner: Rob Werner was sitting next to the winning ticket (It was Harry Judd’s but he had left) – so Rob pulled a card from the deck on Harry’s behalf. So close. Program:
This morning’s guest speaker was NH Chief Justice Robert Lynn. Bob was actually a Bow Rotary member somewhere between the years 1980 and 1990, and lived in Bow as well. Bob talked about the makeup of the NH Supreme Court – there are only 5 justices as opposed to some other states where there could be as many as 11. He talked about the fact that supreme court justices in NH are appointed for life – although they must retire at 70 – and all the justices have an office in Concord – something that is on the unique side when it comes to a supreme court. There are two ways that a case gets before the NH Supreme Court; either via a mandatory appeal (in which case the court is forced to hear arguments) or via discretionary appeals (in which case the justices decide which to hear).
