President Judy called the meeting to order

Matt Dodge was our greeter and he introduced our one guest, PDG Tony Gilmore.

We had 35 Bow Rotarians present so the total was 36.

Chris Parkinson instructed the club to give Matt a double Dilly Dilly.

 

President Judy asked if anyone knows where our hanging banner of club banners is.  
It appears to be missing.

The Rotary Leadership Institute is coming up on March 3rd from 7:30 to 3:30.

You can register for this great training opportunity at RLINEA.org and the club will help anyone with expenses if needed.

The 4-Way Test Speech Contest will be held on April 3rd Rick Minard is heading that up.

President Elect Bryant Stevener is starting to work on committee assignments for next year.  If you have any wishes, please email him.

 

Late fines today, started off with Ben himself.  Also fined were David Gazaway & Jerry Kingwill. 
No logo fines today!  Jon Ruggles and Linda Lorden were not in attendance and Jerry Kingwill was naked of his company wear.

January 4th was Matt Dodge's birthday.  Great year both professionally and family-wise.  Matt also got engaged this year and a September 15th wedding is planned.

January 7th was Tom Wilson's birthday.  He announced that this was his 2nd birthday with a liver he wasn't born with.

Finally today, was Dick Bean's birthday so he received the Bow Rotary rendition of Happy Birthday.  He reported that Bow Rotary is where he started his Rotary life, his dad was a charter member and he was very happy to finally be back now that the rules allow it.

 

Jon Hanson was happy with the support the town has given to the Hodgeman family after their terrible loss.

Chris Parkinson had one sad buck because due to political unrest in Honduras, our trip had to be canceled.  He also had one happy buck because Ben's wife Tammy figured out how to get refunds for the airfare and several team members have already received their refunds.

PDG Tony Gilmore was happy he had a chance to talk to the Earlyactors this past Monday about Pure Water.

Bryant Stevener told a short story about his niece who has finished college and moved to Burlington VT and is sharing a house with others.  She had met someone from Bow and wondered if Bryant knew Lindsay Kipperman.

Bill McGonagle was happy that his Honduras ticket refund had happened.  However, he had to pay a 2nd buck for checking his e-mail during a club meeting.

 

Raffle: Ken Moulton had is number drawn but he wasn't so lucky drawing the joker.

 

Paul Mercier gave a treasurers report with somewhat rough numbers.  Foundation had about $48K before we gave out our recent scholarships and the club account has roughly $28K.

 

Bill McGonagle reported on our membership and attendance numbers.  45 Active members, 5 - 85 Rule members and 5 Honorary for a total of 55.  Our December attendance was very poor at only 72.3% so if you've made up and haven't told Bill, you need to let him know.

 

Dick Swett, Peter Imse and Jeannie Richards collectively reported on the Interact and Earlyact clubs.  The Interact club is at 29 very active members with a strong president.  They have done 12+ projects this year and it is a very strong club.  They went caroling at Havenwood with the Earlyactors and they all had a great time and wish to do more together.  

 

President Judy closed the meeting with the usual toast to Rotary the world over.
