Announcements:
  • Matt Dodge - Recognition Night 6/20 at Baker Free Library
  • Phil Nadeau, Concord Sunrise Club - Having an annual raffle over multiple days at Market Basket, Drawing 27 June, 7:30 pm at 26 Washington Drive, Old Penacook High School, 1 for $5, 3 for $10, 10 for $20. 1st prize is a kayak and 2nd prize is a paddle board.
  • Carol Niegisch - Readers all set for Bow and Dunbarton
  • Mike Griffin - Scholarship Committee met Monday night.  We had 15 applicants and awarded 10 scholarships (3 for $3k, 4 for $2K and 1 for $1K) The awards presentation will be at Bow HS on 7 June.
  • Gerry Carrier - Car show next Saturday, anyone that hasn’t signed up can still help.  Post signs after this Saturday.  Need help on Friday night at 5:30 pm.  Field will be mowed twice this week.
  • Bob Couch Will be posting car show events on Facebook.  Please “Like” and “share” them.
  • Linda Bliss - Membership Committee asked newer members to answer some questions.  Please respond soon so they can compile the responses.

Program: 
Rob Werner introduced Jim Andrews, the CEO of Granite Shore Power.
Future Vision on Merrimack Station – shifting to clean energy.
Granite Shore acquired facilities in 2018 from Public Service Company of NH.
Granite Shore is owned by Atlas Holdings
Merrimac station runs less that 10% of the days during the year.
Coal fired operations will cease in 2028.
Desire is to be the bridge to the next generation.
Reliability is the chief concern to satisfy peak energy demand.
New England is losing 3 GM this winter. 1.5 GW coming online and demand is going up.
Schiller station to become a battery storage center,
Merrimac station has 400 acres.
Interconnection accepted by ISO New England in 2024.
ISO New England currently conducting a System Impact Study.
 
President Matt closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
