Matt Dodge had the honor of introducing Katie Minihan as the newest member of the Rotary who was sponsored by Gerry Carrier. Katie was sworn in by Matt Dodge. Matt reminded all to sign her Rotarian Book over the course of the next several weeks and to welcome her one-on-one to the club.  For those on Zoom should welcome her by email.

 

Tom Ives reported on the planned trash pick up scheduled for 10/21 in the rain. Tom will be there early at 7 am to dodge the worst of the scheduled rain. Anybody who can help can meet at the park & ride. There will be delicious pound cake served. 

 

Matt Dodge: Correspondence from a Bow High School graduate, Libby Parker, who plans on running the Boston Marathon in April 2024. She is looking to raise over $15k for a charity called The Play Brigade. She attended Regis College studying occupational therapy. Ben Kiniry gave the update on the auction and how the committee has now secured over $8k of sponsorships and dozens of items to put online for the auction. Please bring in ALL your items next week so that the auction committee has enough time to put them online for people to bid on. He is looking forward to another successful auction thanks to everyone pitching in.

 

Steve DeStefano gave update on Interact and how the kids are well organized this year & have strong programming. They are looking to collect food items thru November to stock local food pantry. Please bring non perishable to the Rotary meetings to help support their cause.

 

Trunk or Treat is being planned for 10/29^th and please bring a bag of candy or two to support Judy Goodnow and her committee 

 

Bryant Stevener gave the update on the order of Christmas trees to sell this year. Set up will be taken care of by Jerry Kingwill and his crew. Delivery is expected late morning or early afternoon  Saturday 11/25. The first day of selling will be right after delivery and loading the racks the afternoon of the 25th. Interact has offered to help us unload this year.

 

Tamar Roberts gave the treasury report that we have over $18,200 in the general account and $45k in the foundation account.

 

Gerry Carrier gave an update on the new pavilion and the sign ordered as well as the raised lettering. There is an issue with the lettering and needs to be addressed. Gerry is looking to plan a spring 2024 ceremony with town selectmen to officially hand off the pavilion to the Town of Bow as a gift from the Rotary. He also mention a possible brass plaque to put up.

 

Rob Werner  brought up the idea to interview and investigate possible cover bands for the summer 2024 concert series to change things up and draw more of a crowd.

 

Secretary Bill James reminded all to pay up on breakfast dues if owed.

 

Gerry Carrier reminded all about the extra raffle ticket he will purchase for EACH Rotarian that sells 10 tickets. That is Gerry’s Challenge!

 

Tanya Frost has her $100 challenge if all members sell their 10 raffle tickets. 
Mellissa reported that all tickets have been distributed and the committee is collecting the tickets each week.

Ryan Anastasi: for his recent team bonding event at work discovering each other’s strengths and talents at work on the different teams.

Ben Kinery: for visiting colleges with his daughter this weekend and identifying some potential schools to attend

Mike Ard: happy to be back at Rotary.  He had lots to celebrate in his life he had  a wonderful time spent leaf peeping with his family and doing day trips, also for the recent engagement of his daughter who got engaged in Italy, his 50^th high school reunion as well,

Eric Anderson: celebrating his 50^th wedding anniversary and also the beautiful rainy weather as he attempted to travel with his RV but a big rain cloud followed him the whole time

Peter Imse: celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife 

Matt Dodge: looking forward to hosting several friends over the weekend over food, drink , board games and many laughs as he reconnects with good friends also thankful for new member Katie Minihan. 

Ken Moulton: happy to go to the UNH hockey game and see them win and 

Rob Werner: Thankful for taking a beautiful bike ride on Thursday during the wonderful fall weather with family and friends. 

Paul Mercier: thankful for spending time with his 99 year old uncle and visiting the Berkshire's and seeing the beautiful fall color.
