Jerry Kingwill - Roadside pickup scheduled for October 19^th. We need at least 14 people, please sign up if you can help. Sign-up sheet passed around.
Tonya Frost– BAC Octoberfest at the Hanson ball fields on Sept. 28^th will be supported by 6 of our new members working in shifts. Serving chili from Flanagan’s. Vanessa will have a wheel game for kids with some prizes. Note the club hasn’t participated in this event before; it is their 3^rd year. ALL invited even if it is just a quick drop-in to show support for Bow Athletic Club.
Matt Dodge - Auction update. Sent email yesterday to members with list of those assigned to solicit donations from various businesses. Let us know where our efforts are well placed. There are also unassigned businesses. Stop in and ask if they’re willing to support or call if not local to see if they’d like to donate. As of now, we have $11,000 of items in hand – that’s half of where we usually are at this point in the process. The unassigned vendors did receive a letter. Gerry recommended bringing a copy of the letter with you it makes it easier to approach the conversation as a reminder. Tonya reminded us to let people know how much we give out in scholarships.
Pres Gerry – Presidents’ meeting last night with Robbie and ran into person that takes care of weekly paper in Henniker they said would be glad to run it. Judy suggested sending the ad that ran in Bow Times that has all the event information.
The smaller Rotary club in Concord (Sunrise Club) s down to 14 members but challenged the larger Concord club to a cornhole match at $250 each pot – winner donates to charity of choice – asked that Bow be invited next year we’ll do it at Rotary Park and get another club so the pot would be $1,000. So, if you’re a cornholer, get ready! David Farr shared some of these clubs take the game way seriously with shirts, hand chalk, etc.

Judy Goodnow – Visited 3 Pines with a friend for a tour of this area location set in Louise Penny mystery novels with Chief Inspector Gamache

Paul Mercier – Happy Bryant Stevener straightened out my shoulder and presented me with club service award since wasn’t at recognition night - thanks to everybody and will send down some happy bucks,

Chris Parkinson – 6 grandkids oldest now 18 youngest and twins now 10 – they are great, and it has been a lot of fun

David Farr – Coaching girls soccer team, played Hollis recently where they have a beautiful turf field, girls showing signs of resilience and better listeners to coaching

Jon. Ruggles – Sad ten / Happy ten – Over 250 people came to wife’s celebration of her life. Standing here after cardiology testing showed 99% blockage. Message to all to make sure you tell your doctor everything! Doing well now and walking more

Matt Gatze – Good times at golf even. My niece and her husband had retirement appointments in the area had been in Alaska and drove across Canada. They came to see Uncle Matt and dragged us through the woods for a hike at Massabesic Lake

Donna Deos – Fresh back from Canada at Governor-elect seminar

Joya Dennehy – Mini golf was a blast and Pres Gerry is very good

Dick Swett. – Spent 2 days in Washington for the Lantos Foundation annual awards program held for the first time at the Institute of Peace. There were two recipients, one a wife of a Belarusian who ran for president to bring attention to her husband’s plight in prison; she won the election and was exiled. The other recipient is the wife of a Russian recently released in a prisoner exchange. Women in their 40’s doing amazing thing and fascinating to hear their amazing stories. The Lantos foundation legacy foundation was started by Dick’s father-in-law.

Program: Club Assembly

Pres Gerry – Had sent out updated bylaws. Today we need to vote on changes made by adopting Hooksett satellite club. Peter prepared the update using examples from other clubs adopting satellites. Matt made a motion to approve – Karen Wadsworth seconded. Vote: 33 yes – 0 no.

Matt Gatzke – Membership committee passed out surveys on options for club activities and ideas for logo wear. Will mail out survey to members not at today’s meeting. Committee will work on sourcing and has a contact in Merrimack and fellow Rotarians. Brand wear will need a vendor that will work with us on demand instead of bulk pricing. Gerry encourages everyone to fill out their survey. Shared slideshow and stories from Chuckster’s fun night.

Pres Gerry - There’s $1,500 left in the budget ~ $35 per member to offset cost. We can bring in food next time to save money. Hooksett members had a blast at Chuckster’s. Membership overwhelming wants to support social activities based on today’s show of hands. Open meeting next week to go over more club items including results of today’s interest survey.

Bill Ames - If you’re paying for breakfast quarterly you are overdue!

President Gerry closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
