Guest speakers Randell Barkley and Helene Visser both spoke about programs in South Africa, Randell focusing on rotary exchange programs and Helene focusing on Rotary grants to a children’s hospital. Tygerberg Children’s Hospital is located in Cape Town, and the Bow Rotary Club’s donation of $1,000 assisted with the purchase of a bronchoscope that allows visualization of airways.  Rotary club donations are also supporting the purchase of PPE for hospital frontline public health workers. Randell described the benefits of the rotary friendship exchange program, and indicated that the exchange program that was to happen this year between Vermont and South Africa will be rescheduled for 2021.  President Matt closed the meeting with a toast to rotary the world over.
