Today’s Greeter: Rick Minard welcomed members to Bow Rotary and offered some words of wisdom to club members.

Announcements:
  • The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Monday night 6/15 via Zoom. All members are welcomed to attend.
  • The proposed slate of club executives and directors was read for the second time to members. The list includes:
    • President: Matt Gatzke
    • Vice President: Ben Kiniry
    • President Elect: Michelle Fortin
    • Secretary: Betsey Patten
    • Treasurer: Paul Mercier
    • Past President: Dave Scanlan
    • Directors: Gerry Carrier, Michelle Olivier, Linda Lorden, Jeannie Richards, Matt Dodge, Tom Ives, Joya Dennehy (Sergeant at Arms)
    • Rick Minard motioned to accept the slate as proposed and a unanimous voice vote to approve followed.
  • There was discussion regarding Sandy and plans with Hopkinton to celebrate her service to the clubs. A more formal discussion/vote will be held at the Board of Directors meeting on Monday.
  • Gerry Carrier announced that he will be sending an email to all members in an attempt to gauge support and availability for the upcoming Car Show in August. Please be on the lookout for that email and respond accordingly.

Birthdays: Mike Gula was online to offer an update on his recent birthday. Mike gave a happy $15 to coordinate with his son’s upcoming 15th birthday.
 
Happy Bucks:    
  • Paul Mercier was happy that he closed on the sale of his cottage last week.
  • Ben Kiniry gave a happy $5 to mark his 21st wedding anniversary.
  • Mike Griffin was happy to have passed a recent continuing education exam related to his insurance licensing.He was originally scheduled to take the exam in March, but as a result of the recent pandemic it was pushed several times to June
  • Tamar Roberts gave a happy $20 for passing her continuing education exam related to her licensing and for the very quick response time of Bow’s emergency personnel.
  • Steve DeStefano was happy that his daughter will be the Bow Cross Country coach in the fall plus for the outlook of baseball leagues around the state
  • Chris Parkinson offered a happy $5 for the Zoom confusion this morning (How many Bow Rotarians does it take to find the host setting on Zoom?.......)
Program:
Matt Gatzke announced Martin Murray – Board Member and Public Relations Director for Bow Open Spaces.
Bow Open Spaces is responsible for the maintenance of a network of hiking trails spanning approximately 2000 acres. Nearly 1/3 of the easements held by Bow Open Spaces are on private property.
Martin shared a PowerPoint presentation depicting various scenes throughout the trail networks.
A question and answer period followed.
