Letter from Mary Ann Wells – Dec 4th Hooksett club fundraiser at Labelle Winery. Come see a Christmas lights show. If we mention Bow Rotary, our club will receive $10 of the entry fee.
Roadside pick up – We still need two more people for the Oct 18th event.
Cornhole Tournament – date still to be confirmed, but likely to be Wednesday, Nov 19th.
Social Event – An evening of bowling at Boutwell’s is scheduled for 6-8pm on Friday, Oct 17th.
District Golf Tournament – Is this Monday, we have two foursomes. Those participating can coordinate a carpool if desired.
BACtober-fest – Is next Saturday, Oct 4th starting at 4pm. Members will arrive at 3pm to setup. We will provide desserts, so please help by making some if you’d like, and please coordinate with Tanya.
Pumpkins are available for sale at the Bow Mills Church, proceeds to support multiple local organizations.

Birthdays: Peter Imse – Is celebrating a birthday tomorrow. Has had a good year, still figuring our retirement, getting back into exercising which has been great for mood. EarlyAct is off to a great start, have some new members who older relatives are in Rotary.

Dick Swett – Two granddaughters have big roles in the upcoming Beetlejuice play at the palace theater in Manchester. Check it out.

Program:
Real Estate Panel with Ken Moulton and Joya Dennehy
Matt Dodge moderated a panel discussion with Ken and Joya to review the current state of the NH real estate market. Some of the key themes included the rapid rise in the median home price in NH over the past five years, the growing gap between local prices and local incomes, and the challenges new buyers are having trying to break into the market. Friendlier zoning could help—an example was given that Houston is the one major city with essentially no zoning laws, and they also have very low homelessness.
Tips and guidance were shared as to how to help prepare a home for a sale. Although many sellers think about improving the visual components of the home and property, do not neglect things like heating systems, appliances, structural components, etc.. Potential buyers and their agents will appreciate not needing to update these expensive items soon after moving in.
