Bow Rotary Club Meeting 7/20/19
 
President Dave rang the bell promptly at 7:30AM to open the meeting and all participated in the Pledge of Allegiance
Our greeter today was Rob Werner.  Numbers for today were:

Announcements:
Pres. Dave read thank you notes from recent scholarship winners, Dana Fahey, Matt Driscoll and Lauren Goyette.
Concerts – Dave Stack announced the first concert of the summer series was a great success with an awesome band and 3 awesome worker bees – Sandy Eldredge, Donna Deos and Gale Kenison.  The winner of the raffle (we forgot to ask his name) donated the proceeds back to the club, and Kathy from the Firehouse Grill food truck donated her tips to the club! The next concert with be July 21st.  Thank you goes out to Dick Swett for volunteering to be MC.
Sergeant @ Arms – Matt Dodge as sad that he only collected $2 last week but made up for it this week by imposing fines to Michele Olivier, Jon Ruggles Rob Werner and Dave Stack for logo, late and no pin fines, and collected Happy Bucks from the following:
Chris Parkinson happy for his wife’s birthday today! Also, that he successfully completed his jump out of a plane as part of a fund-raiser for Pure Water in which they met the goal of $100,000.  
Dave Stack toured the southwest where the temps were hot, hot and more hot, but the landscape was incredible.
Dick Swett reported the family had a beautiful wedding at their home last Saturday with over 250 guests, the weather was perfect, and his kids performed a song from Hamilton as only the Swett children can (leads this writer to believe we have a new Von Trapp family singers in the making!)
Ken Moulton played in the Friendship Classic and brought home the trophy.
Rob Werner saw the film Echo in the Canyon at Red River Theater and highly recommends the film to everyone.
Steve DeStefano went with this dad to Pittsburg for his birthday wish to surprise his father’s brother and what an awesome reunion.
Tamar Roberts just got home from a trip to Newfoundland with of calamity of events but to say she’s happy to be back home would be an understatement!
Rick Minard thanked Chris Parkinson for a wonderful video and enjoyed seeing so many past members that are no longer among us.
Michelle Fortin was beaming with happiness from just returning with 9 days with her family in Maui.
Noreen Christensen glad the yard sale is done, and closing will be next week, both happy and sad bucks.
Matt Gatzke advised that Tamar should oversee field trips from now on.
Judy Goodnow – just happy!
Dean Cascadden is planning vacation to Nova Scotia but after Tamar’s account of events he is rethinking his plans.
 
Raffle drawing:  Joya number was pulled but she couldn’t find the Joker.
Program: Club Assembly
Gerry Carrier, Community Service - Suggested that we have a couple of coolers filled with water for the concert due to the high heat factor and possibly moving inside the Community Building.
Betsey Patten, Secretary - Dues/Breakfast Invoice – Betsey announced that the invoices had gone out and some payments have come in (Thank you!).  She advised she will be sending out invoices for any remaining members that have balances.
Paul Mercier, Treasurer – gave the following account information:
Club $22,123.58, Foundation $28,007.41 (which $22,000 earmarked for the scholarships that will be given out in January.)  There is still money available for camperships. Overview of the fundraisers, Auction - $26,171.49, Christmas Trees - $3,635.75, Car Show - $14,591.45 and Donations of $8,174.88.
The board discussed the need to expend money and asked the club for their ideas.  One idea was a storage shed much like the one that the Men’s Club has outback and updating the lighting at Rotary Park.
Matt Dodge, International Service – reported the water project in Sudan is on hold for the time being.
Michelle Fortin, Club Service, Tom Ives, Vocational Service and Jeanie Richards New Generation had no report at this time.
Dave Scanlon reported that the board will be moving forward with the Vision update and this will be the 50th Anniversary this year on June 3rd so planning will be starting soon.
Dave closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary at approximately 8:30 AM.

Sarah Castelot - Caring Companions at Easter Seals.
They offer non medical, in home care for individuals, elderly,
or with chronic or mental illness. They work very closely with folks with Alzheimer's and
are all Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Talk about the Center as Bow is one of the towns in their catchment area.
