Announcements:
  • The COVID-19 Global District Grant has been accepted.  The grant will assist the Friendly Kitchen and the Friends of Forgotten Children in terms of donations for front line workers and food relief.
  • President Matt asked the club to think about organizations that would benefit from the donation to 2,000 masks in response to COVID-19.  Suggestions are due back by Monday, July 27th.
  • President Matt urged members to check in with neighbors during this stressful time, to see if they are in need of help and assistance.
  • District Golf Tournament – need to put together a team from the club – several members stepped up.

Happy Bucks:
  • Linda Bliss offers a happy buck as a new member of the club – thanks for the warm welcome
  • Rick Minard celebrates a birthday…the last year has been a “little of that, a little of this.”
  • Dave Scanlon – daughter has graduated from Johns Hopkins Medical School, now is a resident at Hopkins.
  • Judy Goodnow saw her Dad last week, and he has moved backed to Maine form Florida.
  • Eric Anderson pointed out that campgrounds are very full and campers are finding it difficult to find space
  • Bob Couch saw his granddaughter recently as she is visiting form Oklahoma.  She is expecting in December
  • Michelle Oliver reported that her sister is expecting her second child
  • Jon Ruggles is happy that Jackie has been accepted to Concord Academy
  • Chris Parkinson saw daughter and her family
  • President Matt is happy that is daughter is OK as her car was hit by a deer as she was returning from hiking in the Monadnock region.
  • Ben Kiniry is surviving quarantine with teenagers – happy to have access to a pool.
  • Bill Ames – the Port-A-Potty has finally been removed from the foot of the driveway as construction has progressed.
 
Program – Club Assembly
 
As part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Bow Rotary Club, renovations to the Old Town Hall are under consideration, particularly the wallpaper.  The committee will meet in August.
 
Treasurer’s Report – Paul Mercier reported that while this year is expected to be a tough one for fundraising, club finances are in good shape.  There is a balance of $16,000 in the club and $36,000 in the Foundation.
 
Secretary’s Report – current club membership is 46 active members and 5 honorary members.  Annual dues are mostly paid up.  Gerry Carrier will take attendance going forward for virtual meetings as folks want to ensure that perfect attendance records are maintained.
 
Sergeant at Arms Report – Joya appreciates the support in her new role.  Happy Buck revenue was $80 in week 1 of her tenure and $60 in week 2.
 
Avenue of Service – Michelle Oliver has nothing to report at this time,
 
Vocational Service -Tom Ives has nothing to report at this time
 
International Service – Matt Dodge has nothing to report at this time, but is looking into program possibilities.  Dick Swett reports that Rotary Club establishment in Sudan is on hold.
 
New Generations – Interact and Earlyact progams are not operating at this time.
 
Community Service – Gerry Carrier reports that the Car Show and the Summer Concert series have been cancelled at a result of COVID-19.  The Old Town Hall is still closed.
 
President Matt offered a toast the world over to Rotary to close the meeting
