President Matt opened the meeting at 07:30 and greeter Jon found a story about a Red 1953 Mercury convertible, which happened to also be John’s first car, although his was black.

Announcements:
  • President Matt - Meeting today is about the Car show. No club assembly today
  • Crystal Cascadden (Dean’s wife) passed this week. Card is being passed around. Calling hours are Wednesday and Celebration of Life is Thursday. Two sign up signs going around for car pooling.
  • Carol Niegisch - 1st grade readers last week went well. Received thank you notes from Bow.
  • David Farr - Summer Concert Series – Have a bunch of people from school for the 27 June Community Concert show. Bob Couch will promote it the Bow Times and Baker Free Library. Gerry Carrier will have info at the Car Show.
  • Peter Imse - Earlyact selected 3 recipients for donations totaling $2.1K
  • Vanessa Palange - Suncook Rotary holding a Mom Prom on June 7th. Let Vanessa know if interested. Women only.

  • Matt Dodge - Went to industry conference in Chicago. 1st time on an airplane since covid. Thanks to Gerry for covering multiple times.
  • Bob Couch - Sad buck – last meeting in person until November. Happy buck – Going to Canada and back in November.
  • Ryan Anastasi - Vacation 10 day in Madrid Spain and Paris France. Saw Taylor Swift concert.
  • Gerry Carrier - Weather will be great Saturday; cloudy and mid 60s. Appreciates everyone’s car show support this year.
  • Barb Griffin - Lost pin and bleary eyes with new rescued kittens.
  • Bryant Stevener - Remembers when new in Rotary, offered to help and was asked to redo the town map.
  • Mike Gula - Went to pick up wife and 3 friends at Grappone Center at 11:05 pm from a Mom Prom event. Wife’s friends were reliving their glory days. (too much)
  • Ken Moulton - Working on getting Concord's Memorial Field tennis courts renamed in honor of long time coach Harvey Smith.
  • Vanessa Palange - Will be in new WMUR app commercial. Haven’t seen it yet. Happy to participate in book reading. Went to NHTI for step son’s graduation.
  • Dick Swett - Everyone is invited to Dick’s house this Saturday at 3 pm to meet Maggie Goodlander (running for Congress).
  • Tamar Roberts - Not sick now. Peter filled in for her as a school reader.
  • Linda Bliss - Drove to New York. Visited a grandchild in Vermont. Took 1st pickleball lesson.
  • John Ruggles - Boys and Girls Club Golf Fundraiser held in 2nd Tuesday in May. Great weather. Thanks to Tanya Frost for help.
  • David Gazaway - Will have good weather for the Car Show. Town clerk’s office is out of maps. Bryant Stevener said they will be printing more.
 
Program: Car Show Prep - Gerry Carrier & David Gazaway
  1. 66 cars pre-registered. One person bringing 9 cars.
  2. 100 Goodie Bags, donated by Envirotech, will be handed out.
  3. Friday am after Rotary meeting
    1. Going to field to stake out parking areas
    2. Former Rotary member Bob Dawkins helps lay it out. Thank him if you see him
  4. Friday around noon
    1. Pick up food
  5. Friday afternoon
    1. Set up around 5 pm.
    2. Cleaning tables
    3. Create Goodie bags and set up banners
    4. Bringing tractor to move things.
    5. Set up tents at 6 pm. Set up kitchen tent and grills
    6. Porta-pottys arrive in pm
  6. Saturday am
    1. Arrive 6:15 – 6:30
    2. Bill Ames creating signs.
    3. 10 Interacters coming
    4. Early act bringing baked goods to sell
    5. High School senate can’t do the raffle. Rotary will do a 50-50 raffle
    6. Matt Dodge will mange the parking entrance with 2 Interacters.
    7. Rotary volunteers park at Blue Farm house with barn attached, or the Church or Bryant’s office across the street.
    8. Flanagans (South end) donated 5 gallons of chili.
    9. Marcie is bringing a sound system.
  7. Saturday pm
    1. Cleanup the area
    2. Pick up signs around town
  8. We will have fun.
  9. 3 sponsors did not respond this year. If anyone knows of other potential sponsors for next year, let Gerry know.
 
President Matt closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
