Total of 26 Announcements: - Dave Scanlan announced Linda Bliss as a new member to the club. A more formal presentation to occur on a later date.
- Reminder: club dues for next year in the amount of $130 are due by the end of this month. Send payments to: Bow Rotary, PO Box 1935, Bow, NH 03304
- Tamar Roberts announced the names of the 14 students recently awarded a scholarship.
- Dave Scanlan updated the club regarding the celebration for Sandy. The Bow Club is matching the dollar amount from Hopkinton – and the day/time to award it to her is TBD. Dave to update the club via email with the final details soon.
Sergeant at Arms: Matt Dodge
Birthdays: Two Rotarians had a birthday in the past week. Happy Birthday to: - Dave Scanlan: Had a challenging but great year serving as the club president. Additionally, family is doing well.
- Chris Parkinson: Had an interesting year now that he has entered his retirement years. Family is all good as well.
Happy Bucks: - Michelle Olivier was happy that the bank lobbies have reopened to the public + both daughters did well in school despite having to do remote learning.
- Karen Wadsworth was happy that her dad recently tested negative for Covid-19 as did everyone within his facility. She was also happy for Donna Deos and Donna’s home.
- Tamar Roberts was happy to have witnessed her niece’s virtual graduation party via zoom. As well, her son was able to get a waiver to leave for Australia.
- Peter Imse had a public service announcement to alert club members of his need for help for the upcoming elections. Primary + General election planning is set to start, and lots of help will be anticipated.
- Ben Kiniry was happy that his family’s vacation to Maine is about to start (side plug to Dick Swett for including the use of his cottage as an item on last year’s Bow Auction).
- Rick Minard gave a happy dollar for seeing a Scarlet Tanager in his yard recently.
Program: Today was Club Assembly. Matt Gatzke started off by saying that if all continues to go well, the club might be able to hold a meeting at the Old Town Hall starting in July (perhaps 7/10?). He also wished a happy Father’s Day to all dads. Reports from each of the club service directors then followed, including the Secretary’s report, Treasurer’s report, Sergeant At Arms, International Service, and Community Service. Regarding the last topic, Gerry Carrier would like members to respond to his recent email regarding availability should the August Car Show be held. As well, input from club members will be solicited in the coming months as the club wrestles with the topic of our annual auction. Lastly, a big thank you went out to Jon Ruggles and the crew at R&T Electric for the recent work performed at Rotary Park. |
