CHANGING OF THE GAVEL

Bryant Stevener came clean that he was a terrified public speaker but proceeded to give a great discussion to the Club about his growth over the year and provided much thank to all that helped him prepare for his Presidency and during the year. Bryant was thankful for:
  • Mike Griffin for being persistent in getting him to agree to become President.
  • His wife Virginia for providing support in the beginning and during the year.
  • Judy Goodnow for helping him understand what the Presidency was all about and getting him prepared.
  • Jeannie Richards for really stepping up and helping get the Scholarships back on track.
Bryant thanked everyone and thought it was an overall great experience.
Dave Scanlan recognized all new officers and any in attendance were sworn in to their new duties. New President Dave Scanlan was then sworn in by Bryant and presented with the gavel.

Dave provided thanks to Bryant and proceeded to inform the Club that he was glad and excited to be President (still early!!). He believes we have a special club and we have a lot on the agenda for the coming year (50th Anniversary, attract new members, reflecting who we are and what we can do better). Very exciting times……Dave closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary at approximately 8:30 AM.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeff Kipperman
