Announcements:
- Dean Cascadden announced that the School District meeting is tonight at 7 PM, BHS Auditorium
- Dave Stack announced that the Town Meeting is on Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the High School. Elections will be on Tuesday.
- Harry Judd reported that the Town Reports were on the tables for people to bring home and please note that our own Eric Anderson took all of the photos in the Town Report.
- Ben Kiniry reported that he has all of the talent for the Summer Concert Series arranged.
- Rene Ouellette, Bow School District Social Worker, asked for volunteer companies/individuals that are willing to accept BHS students as job shadows or internships. If you are interested Rene or Robert Louf are the contacts.
- Michelle Fortin reported that Interact and EarlyAct are collecting school supplies, backpacks and such for their project with El Salvador. In addition, there will be a Falcons Booster Club wine and beer tasting on March 23 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Library Lower Level. Please see her for tickets.
- Eric Anderson announced that he cannot find his dues logbook and asked for help from anyone who may know the whereabouts.
- Rick Minard announced the Four Way Speech Contest, March 28 6-8:30 PM at the White Rock Senior Ctr
Birthdays:
Sandy Eldridge – Great year, married her daughter off (to Patrick Ives (Tom’s son) and it is exciting to see them in their life. She also went tubing on Sunday!
Alan Kanegsburg – Great year, paid his $100 to the Foundation and he continues his many travels.
Matt Gatzke – Birthday was today followed by excellent singing! All is well, kids are doing great in their careers, Rotary is great and the Run to the Beach is recommended.
Sargent at Arms:
Fines: Gerry Carrier singled out Harry Judd and Ben Kiniry for being in the Bow Times….Harry was wearing his pin but Ben was not!
Happy Bucks:
- We were happy to see Tom Wilson having breakfast with us!
- Tom Ives paid a happy buck for a great vacation in Vieques and told a harrowing story of almost being killed by a falling tree in Woodstock VT.
- Peter Imse was thankful for all of the volunteer responses to help during the upcoming meetings. Please come out to vote!!
- Matt Gatzke paid a happy buck for the ever-amazing Jeff Kipperman whom he met 20 years ago!!
- Steve DeStefano paid a happy buck for his trip to FL where he played baseball and golf.
- Robert Louf presented a happy buck for the Bow Boys Varsity Hockey team who played (AND WON!) in the DII state championship at the SNHU arena Saturday night.
- Ben Kiniry paid a happy buck for the Capitol Steps show at the CCA.
Raffle: The raffle ticket was picked and someone had the winning ticket but did not pick the joker.
Program:
Today was Club Assembly with the following reports:
Secretary’s report – A much happier report by Eric this month! 52 current members, 5 honorary members, no pipeline of new members and 91.75% attendance in February. Dues notices are coming soon!
Treasurer’s report – Paul Mercier reported that we have about $50k in the foundation and $21k in the Club funds.
Gerry Carrier reported that the Sargent of Arms budget is on schedule and he appreciates everything from everyone.
Dave Scanlan reported that Jeannie Gerulskis is collecting Rotary memorabilia. The Technology Committee will be holding a training session for the April 28 meeting program.
Sandy Eldridge gave another plug for the Four Way Speech Contest (reported above) and mentioned that the Regionals will be held on April 2. Town information packets are being worked on for New Library Members. New business cards were passed out to give to new potential members. The cards are good for a free breakfast.
Peter Imse reported that there are 13 EarlyAct students who are working on research projects and brainstorming fundraising projects.
Chris Parkinson will be giving a presentation on his India trip on March 31. Also, please see Chris if you are interested in the Amigos to Honduras trip in late January/Early February…this could be the last one.
Gerry Carrier reported that the Car Show would be on May 20. This is all hands on deck…..he needs additional volunteers and sponsorships. Also, if you have a sign from last year, please bring it in for Gerry to update with new information.
Gale announced that the Rotary District Assembly is April 1 and the Rotary District Conference is April 28 and 29. All that can attend should attend!
