Announcements:
- Bob Couch gave the Christmas Tree report. We sold 200 trees & 75 wreaths in 10 days. Tree and wreath prices increased this year and especially the delivery due to cost of diesel. Michelle & Matt Gatzke sold the last two trees, one was a donation to a family in need.
Looks like we made a lot of people happy and just over $4,000. Will have to increase prices next year. Bryant Stevener will be next year's chair.
- David Gazaway - Bell Ringing - almost all slots full. 3 slots need one more person, 12-1, 1-2 and 3-4.
- Anna - Interact doing very well. They made birdseed wreaths and sold out at the annual crafts fair, made 18 pies for the Windmill's Thanksgiving event, made cookies for? Planning a community Bingo night at BHS.
- Gerry Carrier - Pavilion Project - We finally have a builder! Jerry Kingwill & Cobb Hill Construction have stepped forward and agreed to build the pavilion!
- President Michelle announced that our club received recognition for the End Polio Now campaign as a result of Ben's work.
Sergeant at Arms: Bryant Stevener
Birthdays: None
Fines:
Michelle Fortin - Late
Happy Bucks:
$1 - Dick Bean was happy for Dave Scanlan's election
$2 - Ben Kiniry was happy because his wife got a real kick out of the skit. He was also happy he had Judy Goodnow to sell trees with.
$20 - Dave Scanlan very happy about his election
$20 - Steve DeStefano reported that he now has a new shoulder to go with his previously replaced hips. No more pitching but he thinks he could play outfield and bat.
$3 - Matt Gatzke - Was at Havenwood to look at meeting space and looked up past member Betsey Patten, who said Hi. Also happy for Dave Scanlan and for Mike Gula who is the guy to beat at trivia and was a good sport about beating the library team.
$1 - Peter Imse is real happy about how the Bengals are doing.
$1 - Judy Goodnow - Husband Michael celebrated his 75th birthday and she enjoyed working with Ben also.
$3 - David Gazaway - Scooter fee and for selling trees with "Mr. Couch" (which cost him an extra buck). For our newer members, it's a fine to use formal names or titles.
$1 - Gerry Carrier - their son and his family took them to see Cirque du Soleil's - Twas the Night Before... in Boston and they even paid!
$1 - Bryant Stevener - Was happy he finally had a chance to meet Carol Niegisch in person.
$1 - Karen Wadsworth - Very happy for David and has known him for a very long time.
Program:
Tamar Roberts introduced out speaker, Louis Scarantino, who spoke on Autism, which is a disorder, not a disease. 84% of children with Autism fear their interactions with others. Most aren't diagnosed until the age of two or later.
It's very important for parents to provide a much higher level of stability and consistency in the home with children with this disorder. Establishing specific routines is very important.
Bill willing to accept that you both will have to learn to work through issues and sensitivities.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bob Couch
