Interact finished up for the year - they had a very active and productive year
Early Act - last meeting was yesterday- manny accomplishments for the year including: fall trash cleanup, writing and sending Holiday cards to those serving overseas and Valentine cards to Bow’s first responders and residents at White Rock, making fleece blankets and donating them to Project Linus, collecting donations for the SPCA, collecting eclipse glasses for reuse, and fundraisers - Rotary car show and District concert bake sale, Valentine Fun Dip sale, and Holiday Bird Wreath Sale. Donated a total of $2,300 to charities (Friends of Aine, Mary’s Dog Rescue and Adoption, All Hands and Hearts, and Heifer International)

Program:
Linda Bliss introduced the speaker Ginger Munson who is speaking on the Military and Veterans Campus Project which is currently being developed in Franklin and administered by Easter Seals.
The Easter Seals Campus is a 15 acre previously state owned site in Franklin, NH which is being developed to help provide housing and other services for veterans. Significant funding has come from unused pandemic relief funds as well as other donors.
The vision is to create affordable housing, a retreat center, a hub of services (professional development, mental health, life improvement), and recreation access.
A task force is meeting with community organizations to develop a comprehensive plan:
Affordable Housing - renovating several old historical buildings (Webster and Henry House), all buildings will be 100% ADA accessible, 30 units - 5 of which can hold a small family, there will be a central gathering room in the building
Retreat Center - 20 short term rental bedrooms some with kitchenettes
Hub of Services- meeting and event space - multiple military service organizations, rooms for meeting, events, training
Recreation - playground, indoor recreation area, access to the Rail Trail
They are currently in Phase 1: The Housing, Retreat Center and Hub of Services in under construction with expected completion in 2025.
Phase 2 will include a multipurpose indoor recreation center, playground, and an outdoor performance stage. Additional funding is still needed to complete Phase 2.
