President Gerry opened the meeting at 07:30 and greeter Vanessa shared some inspiration.
Announcements:
- 4-way speech contest March 31st Baker Library at 6:30.
- Chris Parkinson-District Conference is May 30th at the Best Western in Keene NH. Sign-up sheet is going around. The conference is a 1 day 8am-4pm event. Chris will be hosting an after party at Frog Brewing in Keene.
- The next Board meeting will be on Monday March 16th at 6:30pm
- Car Show will be on Saturday May 16th.

Birthdays:
Donna Deos celebrated a birthday Great year with work and at home. Also a big thank you to our club for all the support while she’s been DG this year.
Ryan Anastasi turned 29 this year. 29! Had a great year and a great trip to NYC this past weekend. Attended a play, The First Shadow. He will be getting married on June 12th of this year.
Happy Bucks:
- Steve DeStefano paid a Scooter fine.
- Bill Ames was happy to be at the Hooksett Club’s celebration of becoming an official Rotary Club which included Gerry Carrier presenting them with a Rotary Bell.
- Mike Gula was happy to go snowshoeing up Mt Jackson. While on his hike, he received word his son had partially torn his retina while snowmobiling. He is doing better and Mike went to spend some time with him in Maine. Mike will also be skiing Jay Peak with his daughter this weekend. Jay has an amazing 360inch snow base.
- Tanya Frost was happy for all the laughter this morning.
- Durwood Sargent was happy for attending a Rotary meeting in Henniker yesterday.
- Gerry Carrier was happy for the Hooksett Rotary Club and presenting them with the bell. He also took a 2 hour ski lesson and learned a lot about what he hasn’t been doing technique wise! Very informative.
- Dick Swett was happy for his Grandsons big hockey win against Berlin. They were down 2-0 and came back to win 3-2 giving Berlin its first loss of the season in front of over 1,000 fans.

Matt Gatzke introduced Cathleen Toomey a Podcaster who hosts Senior Authority, a program that tackles the real questions we all face as we grow older. Through candid conversations with leading experts, bestselling authors and inspiring everyday people, she explores the emotional, practical and often surprising sides of aging. Cathleen, is an Exeter NH resident, has more than 18 years as a leader at RiverWoods. She started her podcast to answer questions on aging and is now diving deeper with the NHPBS series. Topics covered included Why do we resist letting go of clutter? How does ageism affect our health? What gives life purpose after retirement? Why is it so hard to talk about aging with our loved ones?
More Adults are aging alone, known as the solo ager from divorce or death of a spouse. The 3 big takeaway’ s were:
