We had 44 Bow Rotarians in attendance.

 

 

President Mike reminded members of the District Assembly on April 9, 2016, and invited members who were interested in attending to meet at the Community Center at 7:00 a.m. for carpooling.

 

President Mike recognized Gerry Carrier and Dave Gazaway who reported concerning Car Show activities.  Gerry held a lottery for the $75 and $100 trophy sponsors which were won by John Ruggles, Steve DeStefano, and Chuck Rheinhardt.  Dave reported concerning the pre-show mailings that have gone out, and the great response to sponsorship opportunities.  He also said that the event has been designated as NSRA Appreciation Day, and, as a result, will be advertised to all of its members.

 

President Mike reminded members that Rotary Park Clean-up will be on April 16, 2016 at 8:00 a.m., and a sign-up sheet is being circulated. 

President Mike read a wonderful thank you note from Kayleigh Andrew regarding her first place finish in the Four-Way Test Speech Contest.  Rick Minard reminded all members that the speech winners will be giving their speeches at next week’s meeting.

President Mike read a thank you letter from the Library Foundation for the Rotary’s generous gift.

President Mike recognized Donna Deoss who encouraged all members to submit nominations for Paul Harris Fellow, Club, and Community awards for upcoming recognition events.

President Mike shared, with sadness, a letter of resignation from Kate Putnam who, at this time, is unable to meet the commitments of Club membership.

President Mike turned the floor over to Bryant, our Sargent-at-Arms who collected a logo fine from Jon Ruggles and a TV/No Pin fine from Bob Couch. 

 

 

Bryant also collected birthday fines from Dean Cascadden (whose Mom never knew when his birthday was), Tony Reynolds (who, unfortunately for health reasons, must close his business), and Steve DeStefano (who still refuses to play ball in his proper age group).

 

Many, many members had Happy Bucks, including:

Dave Gazaway who was proud of his son’s Community Service awareness.

Peter Imse for upcoming Freese Brothers Big Band’s performance at Bow Schools.

Judy Goodnow for the beautiful pieces in the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen furniture show submitted by Bob Couch and Bill McGonagle.

Jeannie Gerulskis for her wonderful experience at Space Museum Conference.

Ira Evans for his missed birthday while he was down in Florida.

Ken Moulton for a family gathering.

Jean Richards for two weeks away, including golf in Phoenix.

Alan Kanegsberg who also returned from a wonderful trip to Phoenix.

 

Ben Kiniry’s number was pulled in the raffle but he did not pull the joker.

 

President Mike recognized Eric Anderson who provided his Secretary’s Report, and encouraged all members to increase their attendance so that we can post attendance figures in the 90%+ range as we did 10 years ago.  He also observed that we rarely have Rotarian visitors any more because of the many options that Rotary International has given members to make up.

 

President Mike recognized Paul Mercier who gave his Treasurer’s Report noting that we have money in both the Club accounts and Foundation accounts. 

 

President Mike next recognized each of the area of service Directors who provided brief reports as follows:

 

Gerry Carrier – Community Service – Car Show, Rotary Park clean-up, roadside clean-up, summer concerts

Linda Lorden – New Generations – Scholarships and Interact. 
Dean reminded everyone of the upcoming “Read In” project for the first graders on May 22, 2016.

Sandy Eldredge – International – Update on the India project

Bryant Stevener – Club Services – He noted that another interview with long-term Rotarian, Ira Evans, will be conducted on April 22, 2016.

President Mike thanked Bob Couch and his Committee for the great job that they were doing in getting publicity about the Club into local media. 
After Bob mentioned some frustration working with the Monitor, Rob Werner agreed to help him with his contacts at the Monitor.

President Mike finally recognized Dave Stack who reminded all members that there is a potential speakers’ list on the Club website that members can use if they are stuck without a speaker.  He also happily announced that the old Town Hall is now wi-fi equipped.
