Announcements:
  • Roadside Pickup was a success.  Our athletic Ben was complaining about sore muscles after his trash duty.
  • Grade A Christmas trees have been found in VT!!!  We will be all set! Steve DeStefano is relieved!
  • Auction online website shown by Matt Dodge.  Work is progressing and we should be able to publish the link very soon.
Sergeant at Arms:
Fines:
The usual logo fines were assessed.
Happy Bucks:
Chris Parkinson was happy/sad that they have had their last weekend at the lake with all the kids.  Winterization has begun.  Started off pretty scary when a muskrat came jumping out of one section of the raft when they brought it on shore.
Bryant Stevener told a funny story about an anniversary weekend that was put on hold due to a case of COVID his mom came down with, and they had all been together just before.  But after testing, all were cleared (accept his mom) and the getaway was back on.

Program:
Carol Niegisch introduced Joel Berman, who worked at the Concord Hospital before retiring.  He is involved with the group called the Compassionate Listening Project.  He started out by directed our thoughts to the state of humanity in general.  He talked about how to change people’s minds to be able to understand both sides of an issue.
After retiring 8 years ago, Joel started learning more about the teaching of CLP.  Base on the Quakers principle of really listening to others, getting in their shoes, trying to understand them on a deeper level, finding shared values.
Joel has gone on several pilgrimages to work and learn more.  He has gone to Israel, Palestine and out west in the US.  He is planning a trip to Alabama next summer.

Respectfully Submitted,
Tom Ives
