Presiding:           Pres. Ben Kiniry called the meeting to order at 7:30.
Greeter:             Gerry Carrier gave an inspiring opening prayer about people serving in harmony with our world, words quoted by the Dali Lama.

Announcements:
  • Ben opened the meeting by apologizing to John McCauley and Paul Mercier for not knowing what all of the board member’s duties were and for not including Paul in last week’s club assembly reports.
  • Ben is working hard on including all the local Rotary clubs in the area to get involved with our Global Grant.
  • Ben talked about the “Penny’s for Polio” program.  Members can donate by bring in their check payable to the Bow Rotary Club and the club will send in one check to foundation.
  • Gerry announced the attendance several difference ways, but in the end, got it right.
  • Judy said that the “trunk and treat” event is all set and that she had enough candy and was willing to share some with the Interact club.
  • The two visitors were introduced as members of the Interact club, Jill Block and Lilly
  • Jill spoke on all the different things the Interact club is doing including, The Flock of Flamingo, asking people to donate peanut butter, baking pies, and selling wreaths.
  • Matt talked on how the auction was going, he encouraged members to please go to the club’s web site and join the link for the auction.  Talk to people to get the word out and tell them when the auction starts.

Sergeant at Arms:
Fines: Matt Dodge & Chris Parkinson for logos.  Matt Gatzke for lack of badge. 
Birthdays:
Jon Ruggles had a birthday.  Jon gave $100.00 to the foundation along with $20.21 for Penny’s for Polio.  He turned 77 this year, celebrated his and his wife’s 50th wedding anniversary!  Jon has also sold his busines, so Jon is now officially retired.
Happy Bucks:
Mike Griffin – announced their daughter Katlin and her fiancés Kevin’s engagement.
Dean Cascadden leaving early today.
Peter Imse celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.
Donna Deos welcoming Dave Gazaway back to the meeting.

Program: 
Lisa Beaudion was our speaker:  Lisa talked about being director of the non-profit organization called ABLE N.H. 
This organization has taken on equity issues as well as social justice claims that affect the disabled.  She told stories of how people with disabilities are more unlikely to be able to join in mainstream actives, such as education, housing, finding a job are all things that the disable find out of the reach.  To learn more about ABLE N.H. go to their web site www.ablenh.org or call Lisa at 603-271-7040.
