Today’s Greeter: Jon Ruggles welcomed members and guests to Bow Rotary, and intoned on the benefits of humor, as Rotary has much of it.

Announcements:
Bryant Stevener announced training for the Rotary website as the program next week. Please bring laptops.
Rich Berryman (Past DG) announced the District Golf Tournament on August 18 at Brentwood, registration to come.
Dean Cascadden reminded members of Rotary Recognition Night Thursday June 1 at 5:30 at the
Baker Free library in lieu of the Friday meeting. Nominations are due to Dean Cascadden by next Friday 4/28.
Roadside pickup and park pickup was reviewed as successful.
Dave Gazaway and Gerry Carrier updated details on the car show in four weeks (May 20th) and solicited signups for jobs. THIS IS AN ALL HANDS ON DECK EVENT ! T-Shirt details were shared and orders solicited. Pre-registrations are running double and bodes well for attendance. Posters and fliers were given out for distribution. There are three years to reach the goal of being the number one fundraiser for the club.
Sandy Eldredge gave a happy $10 as the India grant was finally approved. This grant supports e-learning in rural areas to support teaching in core areas.

- Eric Anderson, April 16, spoke of a great year and looking forward to RVing.
- Mike Fortier spoke of a great year with family, work and fun.

Fines: Late, logos badges, etc…..the usual suspects.
Happy Bucks:
- Jon Ruggles happy for a daughter’s birthday and a trip to see her.
- Chris Parkinson matched Sandy’s happiness for the India grant.
- Donna Deos gave two for family events and concerns.
- Harry Judd was happy to miss snow while in Aruba and that Chuck Rheinhardt had done his driveway.
- Dave Stack tattled on some logos and gained one more dollar for the club.
- Ben Kiniry purchased a Golden Ticket for the Northfield Rotary. Promises of shares of future winnings were made by Ben and Dave Gazaway. Ben also commented on his son’s prowess in Invention Convention and his trip to demonstrate his original game to Washington DC.
- Dave Gazaway was happy to be in FL to see his mom and go to a car show.
- Rich Berryman has a travelling grandson having a birthday.
Raffle:
Bob Dawkins won the raffle and did not pull the joker.
Program:
Dave Scanlon introduced Jane Milllerick, a Bow resident, who serves as Governor Sununu’s Chief of Staff.
Program topic: One Hundred visits in 100 days
Jane thanked the club for the work of Rotary in Bow. She presented on the governor’s commitment to visit 100 out of state businesses in his first 100 days. She spoke of efforts to improve mental health and DCYF programs, but much more work needs to be done beyond the 100 days. She commented that many fourth graders have come through and visited, and education is a priority for the governor so he has taken time to meet with them.
One hundred businesses in 100 days was an effort to bring more business to NH as it is a great state to locate or expand in. Listening to their priorities was part of the process. Quality of life with good schools is a draw. There was a misperception of there being a high tax burden in NH, and the total tax environment was explained.
Questions were then solicited. Bob C asked about power availability as part of the initiative. Dick S asked about opening up international markets. Dean C asked about the most surprising or amazing thing encountered in the new job. Dean C also asked about educational vision especially in light of public schools. Bob D asked a question about vouchers and religious schools. Rick M applauded the full day kindergarten initiative but was against vouchers.
President Gail had the speaker sign 100 Bones for the BFL- very appropriate, and toasted Rotary.
