- Tom Campbell Wilson: April is Donate Life Month (organ). Nearly 115,000 people are waiting for an organ transplant in the United States. The same donor can also save or improve the lives of up to 50 people by donating tissues and eyes. Close to 60% on the list are ethnic minorities.
- Dean Cascadden had to scoot but wanted to mention that todays speaker. Miss New Hampshire, Lauren Percy is a real credit to the town of Bow. Program: David Gazaway introduced our speaker Lauren Percy, Miss New Hampshire. Is a graduate of Bow High and UNH, and is a graduate student at Columbia, studying college access and education policy. She spoke about her experiences in the Miss America pageant and what some of the other contestants are like, She does travel around the state as a good will ambassador. She finds that one of her most satisfying and fulfilling jobs she does is working with and assisting, as an intern financial aide councilor, high school students in the Manchester school system. These students are from refugee families and some are homeless and emancipated minors. She helps them as mentor and adviser in applying to schools for post secondary education. and assists them in finding scholarships and other sources of funding.
