A few hours of work, plenty of banter, and a sunny coffee break saw the move from Jewells Storage to the Club container at Tentworld completed on Saturday. It wasn’t without incident—some gung-ho lifting resulted in a whack to the eyebrow and wobbly legs for one helper. The injury prompted unsympathetic comments about improved looks and excuses to dodge work! Peter N, Peter B and I checked on Ross W over the weekend—he’s fine and ready for round two.
Thanks to the team of nine who pitched in, including Doc S who made the trip up from Brisbane just to help. Special thanks go to Peter N and Tony J, our main movers and shakers, and to Alex B and Tentworld—without whom this wouldn’t have been possible.
Reports are that VP Peter ran Thursday’s meeting with calm competence. He shared that Matt W’s mum is unwell—our thoughts are with Matt and his family. He also noted that Jock’s funeral was attended by Geoff K, Roger K, and Chris W.
Peter spoke about ClubRunner, and I encourage you to give it a go. We pay for this tool, and it’s more useful than many realise—putting member info, events, and communication at your fingertips. Tip: your ClubRunner profile was created using the email address we have on file. Try logging in with a different one and you’ll land in password-reset limbo. Ideally, your ClubRunner and My Rotary logins should use the same email.
As Peter N said: if he can get onto ClubRunner, anyone can! (Though he may have had a little Computer Troubleshooter help…)
It’s great to see our calendar in ClubRunner filling with events—thanks to the Directors making that happen. One I’m especially looking forward to is hearing Mikayla Von Loeben-Close speak about her experience on the MV Windeward Bound Sailing Youth Leadership Challenge. Those who met Mikayla at Changeover will agree she’s a delight. Her presentation promises to be entertaining and insightful—bring a partner or friend along!
Finally, Club invoices went out over the weekend. Please pay promptly—your Club’s finances will thank you.
