A big thank you to our very own Paul Stephenson who delivered on Thursday when the scheduled speaker became unavailable. (PDG Jitendra Prasard was scheduled to speak to us on the Rotary Leadership Institute. He is now down for the 6^th of March.) Paul was in his element telling stories from his early Army days (mid 80’s) when he was working in Arnhem Land. The stories varied from fantastic, to funny, to outright unbelievable. Apparently we have only just scratched the surface of this gold mines of tales and we have been promised (threatened?) with another edition in the future.

It was great to see some less seen faces back at lunch - Cameron Ashmore back after a few months leave of absence and Brett Motton shocked nearly everyone with his second meeting in a row. Doc Smith also came up to Toowoomba to get his haircut and joined us for lunch.

 

The Working Bee at Flexi School went very well. Our thanks to Ron Bowden and Geoff Somerville for scoping out the required work and making sure we had the landscaping supplies delivered ready to go in the light drizzle on Saturday morning. Plenty of good humour as the guys toiled away for a few hours – see the photos.

I am looking forward to hearing from Bruce McNaught from the RC of Brisbane on Thursday. He has a very personal story to share about Polio and his contribution to the Polio Plus program is inspirational. Bruce will be attending along with his wife Cherryl so please make sure you make both of them very welcome.
