Interact Changeover – Thursday 27 August 2026
The annual Interact Changeover for the St Saviour’s College Interact Club was held last Thursday. While I was way, Gary kindly took the chair — thank you, Gary, for stepping in and ensuring the meeting ran smoothly.
Both Gary and Geoff Kapernick reported that the event was highly successful and reflected the strong partnership between our Club and St Saviour’s College.
Geoff has provided the following details:
Incoming Interact Executive – 2026/27

The Executive was joined by member Alisha Webb and teacher Narinder Loi.
Poppy noted that, like our Club, the Interact team is eager to grow its membership over the coming year.
The new Executive will be formally recognised at the College Assembly on Thursday 3 September 2026, where Geoff will attend on behalf of the Rotary Club of Toowoomba East.
Long Weekend Getaway – Friday to Sunday afternoon
Friday morning saw the Long Weekend Committee and participants depart early for the annual getaway. After speaking with John and his committee, Friday ran exceptionally well and set the tone for a memorable weekend.
Kim and I joined the group on Friday night and remained for the rest of the weekend. The getaway proved to be very successful, well organised, and thoroughly enjoyable. Members experienced interesting venues, memorable sights, pleasant company, and fine dining — all contributing to a standout Rotary fellowship event.
This weekend is a credit to our Club and a testament to the planning, teamwork, and commitment of the organising committee.
