Another Great Week in Rotary!
Another great week at the Rotary Club of Toowoomba East, with another wonderful guest speaker who reminded us just how much of a difference one person can make in our community.
We were delighted to welcome Cindy Nicollet, founder of KindHer Threads, who spoke to us about the wonderful work she is doing in the Toowoomba community, particularly in supporting and caring for women in need.
A big thank you to Henry and Tony for organising Cindy’s visit. It was inspiring to hear about the dedication, compassion and hard work that go into helping others. Sometimes, it is the people working quietly behind the scenes who make the biggest difference. As I often say, it is amazing how small groups of people can take on huge jobs and achieve such wonderful things for our community. Well done, Cindy, and thank you for the work you do!
Thank you also to Mark Redmond, who did a wonderful job as our chairman for the day, and to our guest sergeant, Gavin, who certainly kept things interesting! What more can I say, Gavin? A mighty thank you, mate. Good on you!
Around the Club
Things have been a little quieter this week, with most of our current projects now caught up and progressing well. However, there is always something happening behind the scenes in Rotary!
We are looking forward to our board meeting on Wednesday evening, where we will be discussing upcoming plans, getting organised for the weeks ahead and considering how best we can support a few of our local charities.
It also will be wonderful to see Ross, our favourite secretary! Back. A big thank you to Geoff Somerville for stepping in while Ross was away, along with Allan Schefe for also lending a hand. Your support is greatly appreciated.
While we are recognising those who step up when needed, I must also thank Ian Humphrey for filling in while Pete, our treasurer, was away. It is reassuring to know that when someone is unavailable, there are always fellow Rotarians ready to lend a hand and keep things ticking along. That is what being part of a great Rotary club is all about!
It is also great to see Ross Watt John Liley and Jeff Martin safely back in Australia. Welcome home, gentlemen. We look forward to catching up with you both at our next meeting.
And finally…
On the sporting front, it looks as though Ford has been getting the job done again! Congratulations to Dick Johnson and the Dick Johnson Racing team. Go Number 17!
Well, that is about all from me this week. Thank you once again to everyone who continues to give their time, energy and support to our club. It is the contribution of each and every member that makes the Rotary Club of Toowoomba East such a great group to be part of.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday for another great Rotary gathering.
Until then, keep up the good work, look after one another, and remember that together we can continue to make a real difference in our community.
PS. Please keep KindHer Threads in Mind if you are Cleaning out or downsizing, they would very much appreciate clothing of good quality and condition.
Remember We are all in Rotary together.
