It was fabulous to welcome the Mayor, Councillor Geoff McDonald as an honorary member of our Club on Thursday.
It is obvious that Geoff is very well connected to our Club and our members.
Eddie Szatkowski (or Eddie AtoZ as he called himself) visited our Club for the third time and it looks hopeful that he will transfer to RCTE when he gets back from some interstate travel.
Donelle Whitely from RC Greater Springfield is the new District Director of Rotary Health Australia. She did a sterling job of presenting the breadth of research and scholarship options being supported by RHA and the potential for our Club to support those options.
The newly formed ClubRunner (CR) working group met for the first time on evening of Wednesday 23rd . (Roger K, Mark R, Henry C, Geoff S and myself). From that meeting has emerged an implementation plan that I detailed last Thursday.
Essentially;
We are aiming to have every member and Honorary member of the Club able to use the ClubRunner app on their smart phone. Roger has put together a cheat sheet to achieve that using the CR username and password.
We are then asking each of you to edit your details (up to date email addresses, mobile number in the correct format, birthdays, partners details etc)
Then, we are asking each of you to signify that you have edited your data on the downloaded app by registering for the “Member data update test”. This is a trial run of you registering for a RCTE event using ClubRunner. So far we have 6 members who have completed the task.
If you are experiencing difficulties – help is a phone call away to one of the five members mentioned above.
I would like each of you to consider inviting along to a Rotary meeting that friend or colleague that you have thought about as potential Rotarian.
The first meeting as guest is paid for by the Club - Think about it.
I am really looking forward to this week’s meeting. Honorary member Paul Antonio is presenting on “Life after Local Government”.
The Downs Club MUST HAVE FIRM numbers. Your help is vital as I need to get these numbers to the staff at the club by Tuesday Morning for Thursday’s meeting so they can book others in for lunch.
