Dr George Tucker was a very welcome guest speaker on Thursday. He is a long term friend of our Club, a frequent OBG and LWG participant and was awarded a PHF in 2004. He spoke passionately about his views on educating the next generation of doctors. It was also great to see Ashley Coonan (OBG mechanic for many OBG’s and PHF in 2007) drop in to have lunch with us and listen to George.
The April RCTE Board meeting was held on Wednesday 9th and it agreed to make a donation to Dr Curtis Rayment’s “It’s a Man’s issue” program and add a further $1500 to the money raised at the Rotary District Conference “Say NO to DV Walk” that was held on the 28th of March. Other local Rotary Clubs are also contributing.
Curtis will be speaking at our Club meeting on Thursday 15th of May. Members are encouraged to bring their partners along for that lunch meeting, the District Governor will also be attending that day and it is anticipated that each of the local Rotary Clubs will also be represented.
