Thankyou to everyone who rocked up to our last club meeting at the Downs Club for 2024. The Club AGM’s are never on the top shelf of entertainment for a Rotary meeting but never the less it is essential that we maintain good governance of both the Club and our Club Foundation.
Just about half of my year of Club presidency has happened and it is so encouraging to see PE Gary Campbell putting his team together for 25-26.
A big thank you for your wonderful generosity in donating to the YellowBridge “Yellow Bucket Christmas appeal” last Thursday. Adrian reported to me that our Club raised over $800 on top of the donations of Christmas goodies that were brought along.
The RCTE Board met on Wednesday 11th and one of the more significant developments was the acceptance of the proposal to relocate the storage of our Club gear from the Jewells storage shed to a suitably signed Club shipping container that will be located at the Tentworld Warehouse on the corner of Anzac avenue and Stephen street. A very big thank you to Alex Burrell for his generosity.
We are yet to reach the half way mark with getting club members to sign up to ClubRunner (CR) on their smart phones. The Board has agreed to an amended approach where members of the CR implementation working group and several Board members have been individually allocated to personally assist those club members yet get on board with ClubRunner. To achieve the anticipated marked improvement in communication and event management within the Club we need to get a very high rate of member compliance with correcting your contact details and Rotary membership data.
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the “Say NO to DV Walk” that will open the District Conference on March 28th as been formed and will meet this coming week. Our Club also has the honour of managing the team of sergeants at the District Conference. Henry Campy will be the Head Sergeant and on Thursday he had put together a useful list of names of members keen to volunteer and help out. Please ensure you have the dates for the District Conference (28th to 30th March) in your calendar. Let’s see if we can have at least 25 of our Club members attending the conference.
I am looking forward to our vocational visit this coming Thursday to Aerotec at the Toowoomba Airport. See you there.
