Our Rotary week began on Thursday at the Downs Club, where we enjoyed a truly inspiring presentation from Rebecca Buse, a Rotary Peace Fellow whose passion and global experience captivated everyone in the room. Rebecca shared an insightful look into her life and adventures across several countries, working in peacebuilding, community resilience, and international development. Despite her travels, she spoke warmly of her love for living and studying in Brisbane, where she continues her Peace Fellow journey. Her story was a powerful reminder of Rotary’s global reach and the remarkable individuals connected to our programs.
Following Rebecca’s presentation, we moved into a general meeting, covering club business, upcoming activities, and ongoing projects. The discussion was productive and reflected the strong engagement of our members.
Later in the week, several members took part in a working bee at the Flexi School, rolling up their sleeves for a hands‑on session that proved extremely productive. Whether it was tidying, repairing, organising, or supporting the school’s needs, everyone contributed with enthusiasm. The results were clear, and the Flexi School team expressed genuine appreciation for Rotary’s continued support.
Overall, it was a week filled with inspiration, teamwork, and meaningful service — a true reflection of Rotary at its best.
A Club member will be charged a meal fee of $20 if they
fail to submit any apology before 11am on Tuesday for the meeting the following Thursday (48 hrs later)
need to submit a late apology due to changed circumstance.

The members owing a fee of $20 will notified by the Club Secretary and Club Treasurer via an emailed
Late apology fee notice.
The fee can be paid by direct credit into the RCTE Club account or by adding $20 to the $35 meal fee at the next club meeting
