A big thank you to Henry Campey who organised the vocational visit to Momentum Mental health services. The 25 members who attended found the experience very interesting and I sure everyone will agree that is a worthy beneficiary from the 2025 OBG in September this year. It was a great opportunity to see first-hand the significant contribution Momentum Mental Health Services provides to clients in Toowoomba and surrounds.
I announced at the meeting last Thursday that Henry Campey would be our Guest speaker. That has been changed and we now have the Federal Member for Groom Garth Hamilton coming along to speak. We have asked him to give us the back-story to Garth Hamilton MP.
The next President’s Drinks have been scheduled for Phil Gillam’s man cave / bar on this coming Friday 28th of February.

A big thank you to Mark Redmond who has worked away in the background to sort the member data on ClubRunner. We now believe we have all (probably all !!) of the contact phone numbers for members correct. We still have some work to do to ensure the email addresses, birthdays and partners names etc are sorted. We realise it will be a patient process to get this right. Many of you updated the data but there are still issues – for example the format of the mobile number might not have been entered quite right so we have to create reports about each data field and sort them out one at a time.
The District Conference is only a 5 weeks away.
The Club needs to be well represented as conference delegates and also need our team of sergeants (ably lead by Henry Campey) to set a great example of what our Club can do.
The Say No to DV walk will be happening on the Friday afternoon (28th March) and make sure you order your purple shirt from the Secretary.
Wendy Byron (RC Toowoomba Metropolitan) is still after a couple of our members to participate in a “Rotary Clubs of Toowoomba” short entertainment piece at the District Conference on March 29th. So far I have nominated Humph !! and I know Roger wants to but he will “busy as” over the Conference. Any one who is keen – please contact me.

The Board has agreed that from March 1st any member who gives a late apology or no apology at all - will be invoiced for $20.
This will be regardless of whether the lunch numbers given by the secretary to the Downs Club on Tuesday are up, down or exact.
A fee will apply to any member late with an apology regardless of whether the number attending on the meeting day of the meeting is over, under or equal to what the Club Secretary submitted to the Downs Club. This fee will only apply to meetings at the Downs Club or any other club meeting where attendance numbers have to be stipulated prior to the meeting.
A Club member will be charged a meal fee of $20 if they
fail to submit any apology before 11am on Tuesday for the meeting the following Thursday (48 hrs later)
need to submit a late apology due to changed circumstance.
Fail to show up after indicating they would be present.
The members owing a fee of $20 will notified by the Club Secretary and Club Treasurer via an emailed
Late apology fee notice.
The fee can be paid by direct credit into the RCTE Club account or by adding $20 to the $35 meal fee at the next club meeting
