Amin reminded us about the Paul Harris Fellow Community Awards event:
Community recipients, who are not Rotarians, are recognized annually in this manner as club members believe the nominees’ choices to give back to the community reflect the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
Date & time: Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Doors open at 6 pm. Dinner starts at 7 pm.
Place: Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Road, Oakville

Mahendra and Ralf introduced RYLA 2024 (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy)
Thursday May 2 to Sunday May 5 at the Ecology Retreat Centre in Orangeville
Do you know a young (between 18 and 25) go-getter with a passion for positive change and a thirst to become the leader of tomorrow? Yes?? Then nominate them for our Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp!
Classification talk by Sidharth Joshi
Sid talked us through his personal background and his professional experience 
He is a CPA, CA and is now the Managing Director for his company: Acurus Business Consulting
Sid’s first job was at MacDonalds, then DHL, before cutting his consulting teeth at 2 Big 4 firms: Arthur Andersen and Deloitte
With a taste for auditing, he joined the internal audit departments at Labatt’s, Maple Leaf Foods and then JD Irving 
Sid incorporated his own consulting firm in March 2017 
He talked us through his skills and strengths and then his interests and hobbies, including basketball, the Ford Motor Company and geo-politics
Sid the enthused about his personal values and philosophy, future goals and his “integrated risk management” approach to business consulting
WOSS – keeping it in the family:
Sid attended White Oaks Secondary School (WOSS) back in the 1990s
His wife is a teacher there and his son attends grade 10 at the same establishment
Sid’s daughter is currently at Falgarwood, and will soon to be at WOSS

Ralf mentioned that Rotary is setting up a new Interact Club at WOSS this year
AGM for RCO Club
Quorum is 12 and we had 17 members in attendance
Amin took the minutes - to be distributed in due course
Gary collected fines and happy bucks and Rod & Ralf were happy and grateful
Mahendra announced that our next meeting will be Paul Harris Fellow Community Awards Jan 30
Mahendra closed the meeting at 8pm with a toast to Friends and Rotarians around the World.
