The meeting was called to order by President Amin at 6.30pm with a toast to King and Canada. The invocation was provided by Bob Dodds. Attendance: A total of 33 attended the meeting – 23 members plus 10 guests, including Les Ross, Vanda Albuquerque and Karen Rodriguez-Chaba Announcements: George Vincent gave us an update on the 2023 electric car lottery, including the winner of the first Early Bird prize Mike Henry gave us a Membership Minute and let everyone know who to speak with to learn more about our club’s Boards and committees. New member: Peter Chaba - George Farrow introduced the latest member of our club – Peter Chaba

The speaker, Michael Messenger from World Vision Canada was introduced by Bob Dodds - Michael lives in Oakville and started off his career at World Vision Canada before training to become a lawyer. He returned to WVC in 2007 as President and CEO.
- World Vision works alongside communities, supporters, partners and governments to change the way the world works for children, focusing on three specific areas: emergency relief, transformational development and promotion of justice
- Michael is a very hands-on CEO and he told first-hand stories of the good work WVC has done around the world, including in Mali and Ukraine
- We are all asked to think about what our “world vision” was and Michael talked about the similarities between WVC’s values and Rotary’s values
- He provided very detailed answered to a number of questions from our members and our guests
