Ralf Soeder gave a thought-provoking Membership Minute:
- With 100 RCO board and committee positions and 40 members, please aim to be on 2 to 3 boards or committees
As a CPA I was impressed with his math, and as a Rotarian I liked the “fair and beneficial to all concerned” aspect. Ralf was also on-message with Mitch’s focus this year: is membership engagement.

George Farrow thanked the RCO Club for its purchase of 50 Miss Lizzy books
- Miss Lizzy will be making an appearance at the Oakville Centennial Library downtown
- August 10 between 9:00 am. 12:00 pm
- George will provide a Miss Lizzy ‘book reading’ at the Oakville Library commencing at 10:00 am

- We had some very close answers but nobody hit the nail square on the head
- Bob Dodds told a joke, Amin (and many others) enjoyed watching “My Fair Lady” at Brock, and Lynn Childs was happy to attend her first meeting as a member
And tonight’s star attraction: Carrie Connolly’s Classification Conflab
AKA Carrie’s Show & Tell
- Carrie started her presentation in the same way she starts the day, with a green tea
- Ding-dong, Avon calling! Carrie started her career at Avon Canada, where she became a District Sales Manager
- This position gave Carrie the opportunity to empower women and she gave us a powerfully poignant example of one of the ladies whose lives she touched
- Make-up to mutual funds via a mentor: Carrie was encouraged to transfer her training skills to the world of life insurance and investments. She wrote her mutual funds and insurance exams to attain the required licenses and ultimately became the National Training Manager for London Life.
- London Life then became Canada Life, where Carrie is now Manager, Client Experience.
- Carrie has 2 teenage kids and she enjoys gardening and travel. She likes to understand the people and places she visits, as she travels around the world.
- Carrie’s current quest is to consider how she can use her skills and experience to help people in our community through Rotary.
