Ed] Mitch Sabsabi opened the meeting at 6.30pm Michael Bissauge gave the land acknowledgment George Farrow read an invocation Frank Morewood then led us with O Canada (thanks gain Frank) The royal toast was said by Mitch Today’s guests included Meaghan Richardson from Food for Life and a number of members from the Rotary Club of Oakville West Announcements - Mitch reminded members that next year’s Rotary International Convention will be held in Calgary in June 2025.
- Mike Henry reminded members to either make a donation of 2 bottles of wine or send an e-transfer for $40 – these donations will be used to create gift baskets that will be auctioned off at this year’s Rotary Online Auction. The auction will run from Nov 2 to Nov 16. If you have a lawn sign please display it between these 2 dates.
- George Vincent reminded members that the Rotary Club of Oakville AGM will be November 18, 2024. We are looking to add new members to the RCO Club Board e.g. members who have joined the club over the last 2 or 3 years. If you would like to volunteer please tell Mitch. If you are interested in learning more about being a board member please ask George.
- Ralf Soeder thanked this month’s Pod Captain, Sid Joshi, and asked members to respond to emails from Pod Captains asap. Each year our Pod Captains are relatively new to Rotary – please volunteer for Pod tasks so Captains can conclude and Mitch can then prepare for the meeting.
- Bob Miskelly thanked everyone involved with the Rotary Golf Tournament – both from our club and from RCOW. Proceeds were donated to Food for Life this year, with support from the RCO Foundation, and a cheque for $35,000 was handed to Meaghan Richardson.
