Frank Morewood, freshly recovered from his heart valve surgery, led us in the National anthem.
David Hoyle was pinned as a new member by George Farrow. David’s father was a member at RCO for over 15 years. David is a principal of Cherry and Hoyle Roofing, a local company approaching 70 years of service.

Announcements: Annual RC Oakville golf tournament – Mike Henry is looking for additional sponsors and golfers for the Sept 18 event.
George Vincent announced that for the electric car lottery, we want to keep ticket sales going. The E-bike draw and electric lawnmower draw are coming up soon. The Mustang Mach-E prize will also include $11,500 cash.
Desmond Jordan spoke about his non-profit called “Make a great pass” which collects used soccer gear and donates it to overseas recipients or local low-income recipients – donations welcome!
Ralf Soeder announced mentors of the new members who have joined in the last year.

Sundeep introduced Baljeet Toki and Dilraj Sandhu, recent new members who are making their classification presentations this evening.
Baljeet Toki – born in Lucknow in 1981, emigrated to Singapore in 1984, and then on to Australia in 1987.
Baljeet received a Mathematics and Finance degree (U of Technology, 2001)

- 2008 Financial crisis gave an opportunity to change careers into real estate and bespoke tailoring (Montagio Fine Tailoring), two locations Sydney and Brisbane and now a new location in Oakville 145 Lakeshore Rd, Suite 341
- Pandemic caused a slight downsizing,
- Was involved in youth programs to help immigrant students
- Blood drives and clothing drives at local Gurdwaras, and also health checks that require cultural understanding
Came to Canada for love in 2021, married in 2022, with a 10-year-old step-daughter.
Bal has multi-stage goals to help the community, and is building a new house near 4th-Line and Rebecca.
DILRAJ SANDHU
Only child, married for 12 years, to wife Balpreet with 2 kids. Parents emigrated from India to Canada via UK, born in 1982 Etobicoke. Father has a law degree, but couldn’t get professional recognition in Canada. Parents instilled grit and hard work. Works as a litigation lawyer for Traveller’s Insurance; has offered to provide legal assistance to RCO as required.
Working with Bali to set up a blood drive in Oakville.
Family values stress giving back to the community. Wants to give his children the example of giving back to the community, to inspire them to become future Rotarians.
Happy Bucks – everyone happy to welcome many new, younger members with a dedication to community service. All also happy about Frank Morewood’s recovery – Frank and Mahendra recently visited Brantford Academy together with 3 other Rotary clubs.
