The Oakville Golf Club did a fabulous job welcoming us with the snow plow operator at 5:45PM making sure our final 100 yards of driving on the property was successful with nobody going into the ditch.

It was a dark and stormy night as all gathered for the District Governor meeting.

Trivia - Rudy Habesch was presented the Paul Harris +7 pin for his leadership as our District Governor in 2021-2022 .

Trivia – Each of the Presidents welcomed everybody to the evening with their latest club news.
Ralf Soeder introduced our District Governor Sandhya Maini who followed up with an enthusiastic presentation of where we can focus our energy.
Speech Highlights
- Rotary IS innovative. Rotary CAN change.
- Rotary's resilience during the pandemic illustrated point # 1.
- The same spirit of innovation and change that happened during the COVID years can be applied in other areas. We must provide a safe environment for new ideas to be explored and for change to be adopted quicker.
- Our differences are a strength. It is everyone's challenge to ensure they remain a strength despite inevitable difficulties.
- Rotary's motto is "Service Above Self. Sometimes we must ask: "is there more "self" than "service?". Are our personal differences compromising our service to our communities?
- Be the club that you'd want to join. Be mindful of the 'member experience' and what attracts new participants. Successful groups have a membership that feels valued and heard.
- Ask questions and seek feedback where needed to create the best member experience. Question whether what you do makes people feel fantastic, whether you value people's time, perspective, money and skills, whether you have a culture of curiosity and whether you do things in the simplest way.
- Take advantage of existing partnerships. We enhance other organizations. How can we partner to achieve more?
- Enhance RI's public image through activities and projects we are already engaged in. Talk about what we do and the impact of Rotary on our communities and in your life.
- Come to District Conference on May 6. Extra effort is being made to make it accessible for members and families.

Sandhya asked us to do a mini team exercise with Pink, Green and Yellow cards with some great questions; What do you like at Rotary? If you had a magic wand, what would you change? What would you like changed at the district conference?
Congratulations to the Presidents for organizing this event which was enjoyed by all. The social was fun, the dinner was delicious, and Sandhya gave a great message to all of us.
Closing
Sandhya’s mom then gave a brief speech on her daughter that could not be shared in the minutes. For those who did not attend…. It was your loss.
