President Mitch and Mahendra Shah inducted new member, Larry Rodrigue, into the club. Larry, who has been a Rotarian in other locations, said how pleased he was to be back in Rotary in the Rotary Club of Oakville. He expressed his interest in being of service to the club and to the community. Mike Henry collected fines and Happy Bucks: Happy Bucks: - George Vincent for motorcycle rides in Perth as a member of an International Fellowship group. George informed the club about the many different Fellowship and Interest Groups open to Rotarians. Also good news from his daughter about expecting a baby girl!
- Nancy Eichenberg for winning a fourth gold medal in dragon boating.
- Hart Jansson for his grandson and walking in Virginia recently.
- Rod Craig for wearing his new suit tailored at member Bali Toki’s store. And for a recent one week visit to Italy.
Fines: Mike bamboozled us all with information about Canada’s Prime Ministers! Club Assembly (attachment): President Mitch introduced the first club assembly of this Rotary year and presented the budget of the club. He also reported for Ralf Soeder, Chair of New Generations. Mike Henry reported on the upcoming Golf Tournament in the absence of Bob Miskelly. Mike and Hart reported on International Projects of which there are 3 types: individual club, district, and global. President Mitch closed the meeting with a toast to Friends and Rotarians around the world. |
