RCO Bulletin November 18, 2024
The RCO meeting began at 6:45pm on Nov 18th 2024 at the Oakville Golf Club at 154 Sixth Line, Oakville, ON L6H 6M1.  Mitch Sabsabi , President, was chair of the meeting and said the royal toast.  Mahendra Shah read the Land Acknowledgement.  Invocation was said by Sid Joshi.  Lynn Childs was greeter, lead the National Anthem and took the Bulletin up to the beginning of the AGM.  Frank Moorewood did Happy Bucks and Fines. There is no speaker as it is also an AGM meeting tonight.  There were 18 club members present.
 
Announcements:   
  1.  Lynn Childs advised that the Kettle time slots for Saturday, Dec 14th from 10-6pm at Oakville Place, Lower Level had been filled and thanked all those volunteers for their commitment.  An email will follow closer to the time.
  2. Ralf Soeder thanked November POD lead by POD Captain, Wayne Snyder, for their quick response for duties.
  3. Ralf Soeder reminded of the upcoming  Global Medic volunteering opportunity for this coming Saturday, Nov 23rd 2024. 
  4. Mike Henry discussed Community Service and funding to date of approximately $55K.  
  5. Mike Henry discussed Membership Committee update of the acceptance of the member application of Mike Fisher who will begin in the new year.
  6. Mike Henry, on behalf of Bob Miskelly who was away, advised of the Auction success to date was approximately $13K to be split with the other clubs but final numbers will be assessed shortly. 
Happy Bucks and Fines:
 
Lead by Frank Morewood, everyone was asked to say something they were happy for and all 18 members participated.  For fines, Frank  asked if we knew what CVDPV stood for.
Circulation Vaccine -Derived Poliovirus.  He then explained the 2 ways to administer Polio vaccines, oral and by injection and the differences between the 2 and when they are used.  Mahendra recommended all members send their current and previous fines as a lump sum through electronic funds transfer since no cash is being collected any more.
 
AGM:
Minutes by Rod Craig and closed to the public.
 
Mitch Sabsabi closed the meeting with a toast to friends and family around the world.
