Paul Harris Community Fellow Awards, Presented by the Rotary Clubs of Oakville

Ralf Soeder welcomed everyone, as emcee, read the land acknowledgement and gave a toast to the King and Canada
Ed Sweeney led us in singing O Canada and read the invocation
Ralf then acknowledged Honoured Guests, including Member of Provincial Parliament, Oakville North-Burlington, Effie Triantafilopoulos and Regional Municipality of Halton Chair, Gary Carr
Rudy Habesch introduced our District Governor, Brenda Halloran, who made her welcoming remarks

Susan Sheppard, President, Rotary Club of Oakville West, then introduced our Guest Speaker Rahul Singh: 
“The World in Crisis: a review of the state of the world, humanitarian needs, trends and GlobalMedic’s programs”
Rahul gave us an interesting and inspirational presentation on current world emergency support needs and how GlobalMedic is using innovative methods to meet those needs
Rahul was thanked by Ralf, who reminded us that Sundeep Khosla brought GlobalMedic to our attention back in 2022

Ralf then spoke about Paul Harris Fellow awards, including a brief history of Paul Harris himself
Mahendra Shah, our President, presented the first two awards to:
  • Sybil Rampen and
  • Rohini Sood 
Ken Auden, RCOT’s long time Community Services Chair presented the next two awards to:
  • Peter Barber and
  • Moe Thiyagarajah
Susan Sheppard, RCOW President, presented the last two awards to:
  • Cathy Benbow and
  • Dean Wardak 
Ralf congratulated the Paul Harris Fellow Community Award recipients and thanked them all for their “Service Above Self”
