Bellaire/SW Rotary Support for Bellaire FFA

BSWH Rotarians bought a hog and a lamb at the 56th Annual Bellaire FFA Livestock Show and donated the animals back to the FFA program as part of the club’s support for local youth and community education. For more than a decade, Bellaire Rotary has backed the Bellaire FFA chapter, which teaches students life lessons of respect and responsibility, hard work and determination, as well as success and failure. Rotarian Judy Harwell is pictured with chapter president Devon Bowman (right), who raised the lamb, and Jordon Brown (left), who raised the hog.

Family of Rotary: Anastasia Burdzinski
We remember past president Ed Burdzinski bringing her to Rotary as our "youngest Rotarian" shortly after her birth - - and Anastasia has been stepping up her game ever since.  She was recently chosen to spend the day as "Principal of the Day" at her school.  Looks like she had her tiny charges well in hand!

Rotary International’s 2016 Council on Legislation may well be remembered as one of the most progressive in Rotary history. Not only did this Council grant clubs more freedom in determining their meeting schedule and membership, it also approved an increase in per capita dues of $4 a year for three years. The increase will be used to enhance Rotary’s website, improve online tools, and add programs and services to help clubs increase membership. The Council is an essential element of Rotary’s governance. Every three years, members from around the world gather in Chicago to consider proposed changes to the policies that govern the organization and its member clubs.
