First Month Report from Exchange Student to Brazil
We have sent a fine Rotary Youth Ambassador to Brazil this year - - Rose Arechiga. According to her first month's report back home, Rose was initially somewhat overwhelmed by the language, but now loves her small school and host family there. She writes, "The landscape of the country was already so different than what I was used to. It was absolutely breathtaking and I loved it. With a sudden change of plans for my flight and an eight hour delay, I had finally arrived in Sao Jose Do Rio Preto. I had the biggest and brightest smiles awaiting my arrival." As to her school, she says, "School was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I loved it and had no reason to be worried about it at all. The kids and faculty are beyond amazing and helpful, and I love it! The kids have kept me very busy during the week and on weekends always inviting me to try new things and do fun stuff." She concludes her report with, "As an exchange student you learn how to smile, laugh, shake your head, and take everything in one moment at a time. I have fallen in love with Brazil, the people, the food, and everything it has had to offer me so far."
