Changing the World Through Education

Caleb Lucien was born on May 16, 1960 from the union of Pastor Sidoine and Athénienne Lucien. He has been married to his wife Debbie for 29 years and they have 2 daughters , Charissa and Lydia 27and 25 who are married. He is a grandpa of 3. Caleb and Debbie have raised more than 50 foster children who are very successful in life.

Caleb has completed his primary and secondary education at College Pratique du Nord in Cap Haitien and moved to Port au Prince to start College at formerly École Evangelique de la Bible .

In 1982, he transferred to Washington Bible College where he earned his Bachelors degree in Religious Studies . With his desires to further his studies he enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned a Master in Education and a Master of Theology and was named Academic All American.

Caleb never wanted to live in the USA even though after his studies many opportunities were offered to him. Thus right after College , he founded Hosean International Ministries with the vision of empowering Haitians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ thru Education , Life Skills training and business and Economic Development.

Through Hosean he has accomplished the following:

  • In 1992, he inaugurated Camp de La Grâce, a conference center on 30 beautiful acres with Basketball court , soccer fields , dormitory space for 250, a chapel , dining facility and a Physical Therapy Clinic
     
  • In 1991, he founded Lapila Christian School, a k-6 grade school with an an enrollment of 350 students
     
  • In 1993 he founded and directed College de la Grace, a K-13 grade school with à today enrollment of 1180 students
    -
  • In 1989, he founded the Layton Memorial Children’s Home, a Foster home to more than 50 kids who are now pastors, teachers, engineers , nurses , doctors, airplane mechanic.
     
  •  Through a partnership with Habitat for Habitat For Humanity hé built 23 homes for families around Pignon and continue manage the revolving loan process of that program for 400 beneficiaries
     
  • Pastor Lucien has taught at the Lay Institute for 2 years at Dallas Theological Seminary, has taught at an extension program of South Florida for Moody Bible Institute, taught at Séminaire Baptiste du Limbe, taught at Berean Evangelical Theological Seminary and has been a guest Lecturer in Canada with the Associaion of Christian Schools International. He has lectured and preached across the United States, Brasil, Argentina, Uganda, Kenya, Dominican Republic and several other countries around the world.
     
  • He has also served as Associate Pastor a Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pignon and Eglise Evangelique Libre du Cap Haïtien. Since September 2020 he has become the lead pastor of the later. One of his passions is to empower pastors and to that end he has helped build several churches and schools around Haïti. Caleb has also been a successful Entrepreneur. He was a Texaco Franchise Owner for 9 years, he has had a franchise with Western Union, and in April 2017 he has opened the CHALYDATH BAR RESTAURANT in Pignon that sits 150 clients. Caleb was recognized as Regional DIGICEL Entrepreneur of the year. In July 2019 he opened Capital Gas station in Pignon.

Rotary Expérience

Caleb is a founding member of the Rotary Club of Pignon in 1999 and has served as first Vice President and second President . He has served his club in many capacities over the years as well as his district. He has served as Assistant Governor, chairman of health and Hunger, Chairman of Environment, member of the Haïti Task Force, founding member of Rotah, Youth Exchange Co Chair and Chair and has been a Technical Cadre Member since 2006. Caleb was the conference chair for the District Conference 2018. He serves now as the Haiti Task force chair for District 7020. He is a multiple Paul Harris fellow, has attended 21 District conferences and 7 International Conventions . Caleb has also served as one of the district trainers for PETS in more than 8 District conferences.
Caleb is a RLI graduate and discussion and faculty member.

Caleb’s past time is writing poetry and reading and enjoy listening to Haitian Old good music. He is a member of School Administrators Association, founding member of Association of American Christian Counselors, He loves his God, His family, his town of Pignon, his Country and he has a Contagious love of Rotary.
