You may have some old phones, laptops and other rechargeable devices that you’re wondering what to do with. Only 17% of these are properly recycled and they can have a second life.

The Pilot Knob Rotary Club is sponsoring a recycling drive on April 22, Earth Day, from 10am till 5pm at various locations throughout the county. Including, if you’re up for even more fun, working with the Denton Rotary Club to have a central drop-off at the Fairgrounds during their craft beer festival to benefit Shiloh Field Community Garden with extended hours from 1-8pm. The Fairgrounds are right behind Kroger at Carroll Blvd and University (Route 380.)

To reduce the effects on the environment from mining metals for electric vehicle and consumer devices, Redwood Materials in Nevada recovers 85% of the lithium and >95% of other metals like cobalt, copper, nickel, aluminum and manganese and these discarded batteries can be repeatedly recycled. Please note that we’re only after rechargeable batteries and devices.
