Presenter, John Gooderham is a freshwater ecologist who specializes in waterbugs.
John is a pioneer of The National Waterbug Blitz.
Waterbugs provide insight into the longer-term effects of water quality on the health of a freshwater ecosystem.
The diversity of waterbugs at particular points along a waterway can tell us much about that waterway's long-term exposure to impacts such as pollution and sediment.

Daniel Pagotto, who is also an aquatic ecologist with a focus on freshwater systems, fish and invertebrates will be “Talking about some of the key findings from the RiverWatch Pine Rivers Program”.
Congratulations to Dan on his first published research!
He was the lead author of an article about aquatic insects (riverflies) living at various elevations in waterways in some of our tropical rainforests.
