Hello Rotarians and Friends,
I am writing to you from the beautiful countryside of Tenterfield, where I am visiting our favourite couple, Deb & Victor, and looking after my favourite puppy, Veto, while Deb and Victor head off to Coffs Harbour.
A few days of nature, fresh air and calmness for me, apart from the high-intensity AFL Grand Final at Deb and Victor’s this Saturday, with a few of their friends! There was a lot of screaming, jumping around and, of course, wine. 😂
Deb told us last week that she will be leaving us, which is completely understandable, as a three-and-a-half-hour drive is a little much to travel for Rotary meetings. Luckily, we won’t be losing Deb from Rotary, as she will be transferring to the very lucky Rotary Club of Tenterfield.
We will miss Deb dearly (I know I will) and thank her for her years of service with us as well as being our President X3. Deb will always be part of us and part of the Rotary Club of Paddington family. We wish her all the very best for this next chapter, and I’m sure we will still find opportunities to see her (Maybe a Rotary weekend around Tenterfield?).
On another note, this Thursday, 1 October, we will welcome Youngcare to dinner at The Beetson, our new home for the foreseeable future. We will be presenting Youngcare with a cheque as the beneficiary of our recent Art Show.
Please join us for the evening as we celebrate a successful Art Show, our partnership with Youngcare, and the incredible effort that went into making the event happen.
I would also like to ask everyone to keep an eye on our calendar, as there have been some changes following the poll results on WhatsApp. From November, our monthly evening dinner will be moving from Thursday to Wednesday evening. Please make sure you check the calendar for the updated dates and times.
And finally, last weekend we had another fantastic Bunnings BBQ! We had such a great turnout that David actually had to go and buy more sausages, and even then, we managed to sell out by 2:30pm! Most of our drinks were gone too. An incredible 900 sausages sold!
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, helped cook, served, sold, chatted and generally made the day so much fun. These events are always a great reminder of what we can achieve when we all pitch in together but also are a great way to meet new people and potential future members.
Thank you, everyone, and I look forward to seeing you at The Beetson on Thursday.
Together, we create lasting impact.
Mademoiselle President Valerie
