We spent a beautiful summer morning with the Sunrise and Gallager homes at Travelers Rest We heard about the Native Americans that lived and traded in the area as well as the travels of Lewis and Clark. Our guides split us into 2 groups. One group played warrior games and one took the tour thru the area; stopping and learning about Lewis & Clark's campsite. It seems that running and yelling is a hunting game-the kids were naturals. Being good at running and yelling is very useful when herding deer toward your hunting party.
We capped off the morning with a wonderful lunch prepared by Sandy and Farmer's State Bank.
