This morning we opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, and the invocation was presented by Jennifer.
Our Guest Speakers this morning from the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana included Larry White, Barry Kenfield (Director of Western Montana AHEC) and Ned Vasquez MD (Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana)
The Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana is a three-year family medicine residency program sponsored by The University of Montana in Missoula and affiliated with the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network. The primary goal of this program is to offer first class medicine in the last best place.
Montana has a shortage of primary care physicians, especially in rural areas, and this program is designed to attract good physicians and offer them residency in hopes that they will stay and practice where they received their training. We had one guest this morning, Larry Wilbert invited by his partner Dick King.
Our trivia question was posed and answered by Curt….
Who is the town of Ekalaka named after?
Happy Bucks were donated by Anne Guest who congratulated Greg Johnson for a successful gala event and thanked the Rotarians who attended the event. Anne also congratulated Susan Hay Patrick for winning the Golden Halo award, which is presented annually to worthy recipients who as Anne put it….put butts in the seats and lights on the stage. Anne is also happy to report 2 positive news stories in the Missoulian…
Greg is also delighted about the success of the play and is excited to take the show on the road…
Dick was happy about his connection to the speaker… I believe they may have been Fraternity brothers at the University of Montana. (sorry I did not hear his play on words well enough to quote it) Jennifer was happy to finally be receiving her blue badge, Matt is happy not to be in Atlanta, and Lou is happy to be back from Ann Arbor where they do not believe in snow plows… after driving down Reserve Street, I think our city might have slept in a bit this morning as well….
