Happy Bucks: Larry got back from Seattle and he walked 10 miles when he was there; mat D had a float trip in July, his mother-in-law is visiting and he has put a lot of miles on the car enjoying Montana with his family; Brandon's wife went to see her grandfather who turned 99 so he was a single parent for the weekend; Betsy hosted a fellow Rotarian's son for 6 weeks while he was going to the photography school and he is now gone; Jim's birthday is today; John announced the Clark Fork Adventure Challenge Triathalon in Plains in September; Jennifer finished her basement remodel and her kids show up this week; Alissa is happy to be back at Rotary; Claire moved into her house 3 weeks ago and is almost unpacked; Udo has been sampling wine all week for the fundraiser dinner Saturday night; Margaret had a great time at the Coffee Con in Seattle.

A meeting for the analemma project will be September 20th with the Parks and Recreation department from the city; Brandon is in the midst of planning the Mag 7 tournament tentatively for September 14th and we need to get going on prizes and gifts for the raffle, need 9 teams at $500 per team. Margaret talked about the Coffee Con fundraiser and she went to Seattle to check out the Coffee convention. She said it is totally doable. if you are interested in helping with this event please contact Margaret Parson. This would happen late January or early February. Sandy updated us on the rafting trip. She would like a final count on who is going from Rotary by August 3rd. See the attached flyer for more information.

Our speaker was Bob Sidenschwartz and was introduced by Susan Hay-Patrick. Bob is President Emeritus of the Montana World Affairs Council and he spoke about the immigration issue. He recommended that we familiarize ourselves with the Flores Act of 1983.
 
Jennifer presented Bob with a rotary coin featuring the 4-way test and a mention in the dictionary project for 3rd graders.
